About the Program
MAHSA University (Malaysian Allied Health Sciences Academy) which is a full-fledged Malaysian higher education institution that is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. MAHSA University offers programs in the fields of Medicine, Biosciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Nursing,
Business, Finance, Hospitality Management, Information Technology, and Engineering at Diploma, Degree, Masters, and Doctoral levels.
Introduction
MAHSA University’s Master of Science in Public Health (ODL) This program provides the necessary knowledge and competencies to protect, improve and maintain the health of individuals and communities and prepares students for gainful employment in diverse health settings both in the public and private health sectors. Graduates of this program will have acquired the various proficiencies and aptitudes to function effectively and efficiently in a diverse environment as leaders in public health. They will have the capacity to diagnose community health problems, manage and reduce health disparities and implement solutions to enhance human health. They will also be equipped with advanced research capacities to do independent research to inform their evidence-based public health practices.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
The objectives of the Public Health program are to produce graduates who are able to:
PEO1 | Develop collaborative and multidimensional approaches working with individuals and communities to promote and protect public health in an ethical and professional manner. |
PEO2 | Critically explore Public Health from a comparative National and International perspective. |
PEO3 | Design, conduct and manage research projects independently using standards that promote critical thinking and lifelong learning. |
PEO4 | Review research papers critically to enable evidence-based decision making in public health practice. |
PEO5 | Lead and manage public health practice and social enterprises to promote health with a high standard of professionalism and ethics. |
PEO6 | Contribute to the health and social sectors with public health task force to assist decision-makings related to health planning, management and implementation of health services. |

On completion of the Public Health program, students will be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:

PLO10 | Use the principles and practice of epidemiology in public health policies and research |

Entry Requirements
- Applicants of this program should possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or a bachelor’s degree not in a related field and five-years relevant organizational experience.
- All Applicants must pass the university English proficiency test or provide evidence for international English certification.

1.5 year = 4 Semesters * 4 months

- Tuition Fees: $3,120 ($187.5 / Month)

Graduation Requirements
Candidates must fulfil the following requirement for graduation to qualify for the degree:
- Satisfactorily completed all the courses and the total number of credit hours specified for the program.
- Obtained a final CGPA of at least 3.00 on completion of the program.
- Paid all fees due to the university.
